It’s the second Wednesday of the month. You know what that means??CHAMBER CHAMPIONS COMMITTEE!!!We usually start out with a group lunch, followed by visits to new, potential and existing members. Here’s a recap of today’s adventures (which always includes learning, laughter and often we lose a champion along the way, well today it was 2 champions, but we found them eventually 😂)🍺 Lunch at the North End Tavern & Brewery YUM!🎙️ Tour at 7 Mountains Media (formerly Results Radio) and we got to meet the new morning hosts Rob & Louise!👨🏼‍🦳 Visit at Wyngate Senior Living Community of Parkersburg. We just missed bingo, but got to check out one of the sample apartment floor plans for clients. We were all impressed with the activities and decor. 👙 Aimee at Blue Bamboo demonstrated the body contouring procedures and beauty treatments available at her spa located in Vienna. 🛞 We wrapped up the day with a stop at RNR Tire Express to visit with Josh and Sara to learn about the variety of tires and wheels they finance and install. The 2024 Partner in Education Luncheon is a wrap!Bring together 60 elementary, middle school, and high school students with 60 principals and teachers and add in 80 business representatives, a mac-n-cheese bar and a humorous Heads or Tails game, and you are sure to have some fun!The MOV Chamber has overseen the Partner in Education program in Wood County since its beginning in 1985. Today's luncheon was the 37th annual gathering to honor the existing school-business relationships and celebrate the partnerships added since the last luncheon. (Yes, I know the math is off - we had 2 years that we had to forego the luncheon because of the pandemic.) Over the past year we have added 11 new partnerships (and we have about 20 in the queue to get formalized!)If your business is interested in learning more about becoming a Partner in Education, please let us know. It was a wonderful morning at the The Blennerhassett Hotel and Spa Ribbon Cutting Ceremony as they celebrated the hotel’s 135 Anniversary and the opening of their Club 1889 Speakeasy. Mayor Tom Joyce was on hand to deliver a Proclamation that going forward, May 6 will be Blennerhassett Hotel Day. We enjoyed a visit from Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett, a beautiful 4 tier cake, author Sherry Monaghan, and music by Rick Poling.
