The Government Relations Committee is coordinating MOV Chamber Day at the Capital on Tuesday, February 18.
All Chamber members are welcome to join us!
The 2020 Legislative Session is two weeks in, but already over 1600 bills have been introduced in the House and Senate.
Are you making your voice heard about the things that are important to you and your business?
Do you know how the actions in Charleston may affect you and your business?
Join us on February 18 for a front-row seat to the legislative process.
Here's the tentative agenda for the day:
New for our 2020 visit - we will start the day with a tour of the Capitol at 9:30am!
Next up - attend the House or Senate Session at 11am and be introduce in the Gallery!
Followed by short updates from special invited guests (see below)
Then have lunch with our elected officials to share your concerns, but more importantly, take time to learn.
We will have the Governor's Cabinet & Conference Room (adjacent to the Secretary of State's wing) reserved from 9:00am - 2:30pm.
Lunch will be served from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
Please plan to spend some time in the Conference Room as our legislators will stop by in between committee meetings and session to join us for lunch. I encourage you to bring any talking points or handouts pertaining to your organization to share with our elected officials.
We are also inviting other key stakeholders to join us for lunch, such as
Governor Jim Justice
Attorney General Patrick Morrisey
Secretary of State Mac Warner
Mike Hall, Governor's Chief of Staff
Ann Urling, Governor's Deputy Chief of Staff
Bob Ashley, Governor's Legislative Director
Ed Gaunch, Cabinet Secretary of Commerce
Bill Crouch, Cabinet Secretary of Health & Human Services
Jeff Sandy, Cabinet Secretary of Military Affairs and Public Safety
Representatives for Senator Capito, Senator Manchin and Congressman McKinley
Steve Roberts and WV Chamber representatives
Transportation to and from Charleston is the responsibility of the Chamber member, although we are happy to explore getting the 17-passenger shuttle bus again if there is interest in riding down together again this year.
