Government Relations Committee reviews proposed Legislation and recommends action to be taken on behalf of our members. The Committee maintains strong relationships with our local elected officials. This committee now meets meets bi-monthly.

We are thrilled to be brining back our Luck of the Draw Reverse Drawing in 2021, with a little twist! Our August Business After Hours Host, Parkersburg Art Center, was gracious in allowing us to host our Luck of the Draw Reverse Drawing during their Business After Hours event on August 3!

OK, artists, gather around. Here's the scoop on the Luck of the Draw Reverse Drawing. 

How’s this work?

From the first brush stroke of sunlight on July 7 until the sun hits the horizon line on July 30, we will be selling 200 Tickets for $50 each at the Chamber Art Gallery (otherwise known as in this email or over the phone.) 

Have a lucky number? 

Select that number on the order form OR just as the name implies, randomly pick one of the ticket numbers for your Luck of the Draw entry. Click REGISTER to confirm your number and the next step is to pay by credit card on-line. Prefer to send your money in via postal mail? That works too – just make sure we receive it before close of business on July 30 to reserve that number. 

Don’t go dodging our art secruity team - numbers that have been reserved but not paid for by July 30 will be released for final last-minute sales on Saturday, July 31.

I have 2 lucky numbers!

Guess what, art creator? You can purchase more than one ticket with all those paintings you have been selling and the paper money you’ve saved up. Or maybe you purchase one, your spouse purchases another, and so on… Please know the money is going to a great cause – YOUR Chamber of Commerce – so your generosity is greatly appreciated! And by getting more than one ticket, you’ve increased your chances of winning. (The only requirement is you must be over 21 to participate.)

When will you draw the tickets?

On Tuesday, August 3 at 5:30 pm in the evening, we invite you to join us in person at the Parkersburg Art Center or online via Facebook Live as we draw the numbers. Your goal is to be the last ticket drawn and that ticket holder wins $1000. Its's the real deal, no fake art here!

Your luck of the draw ticket will be emailed or postal mailed to you prior to the drawing.

What about the rest of the tickets? 

In this situation being the first ticket drawn is not where you want to be, so we will award the first ticket with their $50 investment back. 

The 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th Tickets drawn each receive $60. 
The 60th, 70th, 80th and 90th Tickets drawn each receive $75.

The 100th ticket will receive $100, 110th ticket will receive $110,

120th ticket will receive $120, 130th ticket will receive $130,

140th ticket will receive $140, 150th ticket will receive $150,

160th ticket will receive $160, 170th ticket will receive $170,

180th ticket will receive $180, 190th ticket will receive $190.

The 191st ticket will receive $195, 192nd ticket will receive $200,

193rd ticket will receive, $205, 194th ticket will receive $210,

195th ticket will receive $215,

The 196th ticket drawn receives $250.

The 197th ticket drawn receives $275.

The 198th ticket drawn receives $300.

And the 199th Ticket drawn receives $350.

We are planning to meet at the MOV Chamber Office at 12:00 PM for our typical Chamber Champions meeting and then start member visits in the aftertoon at 1:30 PM.  

The Chamber Champions are Ambassadors that serve as representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley. WV Attorney General will be in the Mid-Ohio Valley on Monday, July 19 and would like to hold a business roundtable discussion with the business community during his visit.

The WV Attorney General wants to meet with constituents in the business community, throughout the State, to better understand your needs and concerns. The AG hopes to determine how his office can help with such concerns and work to improve economic development in the area and throughout WV. Seating is limited to 14 attendees, therefore pre-registration is required.
