Join Dominique Kirl, Transition Agent at Jobs & Hope WV , for a virtual webinar on "Putting West Virginians Back to Work."
Jobs & Hope West Virginia is the state’s comprehensive response to the substance use disorder crisis. Established by Governor Jim Justice and the West Virginia Legislature, this program offers support through a statewide collaboration of agencies that provide West Virginians in recovery the opportunity to obtain career training and to ultimately secure meaningful employment.
Dominique works with individuals in Recovery to identify barriers to employment and then helps them to overcome the barriers. Working closely with organizations such as Adult Basic Education, WVUP and WV Workforce, the program assists in getting individuals trained, certified, or a degree to provide them with Career employment.
Yet over her last four years of doing this rewarding work, she has faced a dilemma – finding employers in our region that hire people with felonies on their background. Realizing these challenges, Dominique would love to present this program and the information to our Chamber members with hopes that by learning more you might explore an opportunity or know of one in the community. Did you know there are opportunities for bonding, wage reimbursement or tax breaks for employers?
Dominique will present on what Jobs & Hope WV is and why it is needed in the State of West Virginia. She will cover the eligibility criteria, the population that they serve, and who they partner with statewide. She will also discuss what barriers they help participants overcome through these partnerships.
This webinar is open to all MOV Chamber members. The Zoom link will be sent out via email prior to the webinar, please register if you plan on attending so we can get that information to you.
